.htaccess~~ ?

    Hi there,

    in the folder public_html i have 4 .htaccess files.
    And they are in a order like this,
    .htaccess
    .htaccess~
    .htaccess~~
    .htaccess~~~~

    Why are there 4 of them and could it do any harm?
