.htaccess and no files uploading

    Hi all – not sure if these 2 problems are linked but I’d appreciate any help you can give.

    1) Posting is fine and I’m only using the default theme so nothing to worry about there. But I can’t upload files. I’ve made sure the wp-content folder is CHMOD777 but the error that’s coming up is:

    Failed to write file to disk.

    2) When I went to click on the manage/ files/ .htaccess to have a look I was met with:

    Browsing .htaccess
    Oops, no such file exists! Double check the name and try again, merci.

    I’d really appreciate your help – I don’t want to do anything complicated – just be able to post files and text. Thanks

  • The way to have a look in .htaccess is to download it with your ftp program (set it to display hidden files), then open it in a text editor.

    Hi,

    I’m using Cute FTP and I’m viewing all hidden files but I cannot see the .htaccess file. I’m still having the same problems – I just can’t upload any files/ images to the blog.

    Any ideas anyone?

    I’ve managed t osort it – i needed tmp folder and my host changed something.
