• My hosting service, Arvixe, moved my site to a new and ever since I get ERROR 500 and tracked this down to the .htaccess file created by iThemes Security. I’ve deleted the plugin and reinstalled. I’ve deleted the .htaccess file, and re-created it from the Server Config Rules panel. Whenever the iThemes Security .htaccess file is present, the server fails.

Viewing my server logs, I see many errors like this:

[Tue Oct 03 17:40:22 2017] [alert] [client 172.68.142.249] /home1/reekes/public_html/.htaccess: The specified IP address is invalid.

    And this:

[Tue Oct 03 17:07:31 2017] [crit] [client 172.68.142.249] (13)Permission denied: /home1/reekes/public_html/.htaccess pcfg_openfile: unable to check htaccess file, ensure it is readable
