htaccess file for 2 blogs on one domain

  • here is my blog; https://www.example.com/blog/

    here is the main website; https://www.example.com

    I’m actually using 2 separate WP blogs on one domain because i want the blog to be a different look than the main website.

    When I want set the permalinks for my blog to something other than the default, I am prompted to edit the htaccess file by uploading the appropriate code that it gives me.

    I do this, but it ain’t working like it should. What am I doing wrong? Is it possible to have 2 different codes- one for the site and one for the blog- to be on the htaccess file?

  • The .htaccess file for your blog has to be in the root of the WP install – which means you’ll have two: one in the root of your site, one in the blog directory.

    Hmmm…I checked that but there is no htaccess file in my blog root directory. I made sure that my FTP client revealed all hidden files but still no file. Should I just make another htaccess file for the blog root directory?

    Yes, that’s what I meant. If there isn’t – make one.
