.htaccess file regenerating after hack

  • Good day. Please please assit.

    I am not a super boffin on the backend. I have a problem with the above site on which I help with maintenecae for the owner.

    It seems been hacked at some stage and after numerious attemps to log in and make changes, I just cant and dont understand the problems.

    when I do log in with my WP details, it just looks wierd and not like WP at all.

    When I try to make any changes, go to pages etc, I hget the following error :

    Forbidden

    You don’t have permission to access this resource.Apache Server at dieoogvakansie.co.za Port 443

    Iasked the Hosting company to look and this was their response: “As per your request, I’ve removed the .htaccess file, however the file is immediately regenerated. I’ve also had a look at the cron logs for the domain and can confirm there are no corn entries running to create the ,htacces file. This leads me to believe that code added to your website is generating this .htaccess file. ”

    We did try to install an older vesrion and older backups , but still no luck.
