• Ok,

I’m having serious issues with one of my blogs. Everytime I change the .htaccess file so the permilinnk structure is what is shown in the sampe (on the permilinks page.. ) nothing special here.. but whatever it writes pretty much makes my blog inaccessable. Is there a place where I could post my .htaccess code and someone could tell me if there is something obviously wrong that is keeping it from working?

This is what I tried to set it as…
    /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/

problem. I can’t even access the permilinks sectioni to make a change to this now.. can anybody email what the .htaccess file should look like or what maybe what common problems are when it doesn’t work?

If you have cpanel or ftp access, delete the .htaccess file

As for structure, but /%archives%/ at the beginning ? If nothing else just to get it working.

    I deleted it.

then I added the /index.php/ to the structure.. this worked.. but i’m running a apache server.. any idea why this fixed the problem?

Nope – I’m clueless on rewrite rules. Hopefully someone will happen along and explain it.
But.. now you have a working set, you can experiment ??
    (if you wanted)
