• Good Day!

I want to use permalinks for my site and when I set them via Options>Permalinks the links work very well, but the images won’t show!

The images which are coded like https://domain.com/wordpress/images/example.jpg show properly, but…

…the images in my entries which are coded like wp-content/uploads/example.jpg don’t show because the link to them is wrong.

Is there a solution when I insert something special into my .htaccess that I don’t have to change that manually for every entry?

It’s because I got A LOT of entries with images!

    Thank you for your help!

    Yours sincerely
    lynx

  • I don’t know about the .htaccess (I am not a coder) but I know about correct html and linking ??

    If you have links like
wp-content/uploads/example.jpg – that’s always calculated from the page where you are on, e.g.

    example.com/wordpress/2006/09/15/my-last-post/wp-content/uploads/example.jpg

    You should have used /wp-content/uploads/etc.
Notice the slash at the front!

    You are wrong.

I experimented with your advice to make a slash before “wp-content” and it doesn’t work either!

WordPress unfortunately doesn’t only change my structure of the permalinks but even the paths to my images. If I could avoid the last point, so that WordPress ignores how the structure for my images is made, then everything would be fine.

    I don’t know how I could do this. Hmmm…

    Try /wordpress/wp-content/uploads/example.jpg

Assuming that WordPress is in a folder called wordpress, that it.

Oops, WP is in a subfolder. Then start it with that:
    /subfolder/wp-content/etc.
    Sorry.
(the example above works if WP is installed at the root)

    EDIT. – LB types faster… ??
