• Hello everyone!

    I installed WebpExpress plugin, configured it and added to nginx.conf rules from “FAQ: I am on NGINX or OpenResty”:

    user sites;
    worker_processes auto;
    pid /run/nginx.pid;
    include /etc/nginx/modules-enabled/*.conf;

    events {
        worker_connections 768;
        # multi_accept on;
    }

    http {
    	client_max_body_size 50M;
        sendfile on;
        tcp_nopush on;
        tcp_nodelay on;
        keepalive_timeout 65;
        types_hash_max_size 6048;
        server_tokens off;

        # server_names_hash_bucket_size 64;
        # server_name_in_redirect off;

        include /etc/nginx/mime.types;
        default_type application/octet-stream;

        ssl_protocols TLSv1 TLSv1.1 TLSv1.2; # Dropping SSLv3, ref: POODLE
        ssl_prefer_server_ciphers on;

        access_log /var/log/nginx/access.log;
        error_log /var/log/nginx/error.log;

        gzip on;

        # gzip_vary on;
        # gzip_proxied any;
        # gzip_comp_level 6;
        # gzip_buffers 16 8k;
        # gzip_http_version 1.1;
        # gzip_types text/plain text/css application/json application/javascript text/xml application/xml application/xml+rss text/javascript;

        include /etc/nginx/conf.d/*.conf;
        include /etc/nginx/sites-enabled/*;

    server {
    # WebP Express rules
    # --------------------
    location ~* ^/?wp-content/.*\.(png|jpe?g)$ {
      add_header Vary Accept;
      expires 365d;
      if ($http_accept !~* "webp"){
        break;
      }
      try_files
        /wp-content/webp-express/webp-images/doc-root/$uri.webp
        $uri.webp
        /wp-content/plugins/webp-express/wod/webp-on-demand.php?xsource=x$request_filename&wp-content=wp-content
        ;
    }

    # Route requests for non-existing webps to the converter
    location ~* ^/?wp-content/.*\.(png|jpe?g)\.webp$ {
        try_files
          $uri
          /wp-content/plugins/webp-express/wod/webp-realizer.php?xdestination=x$request_filename&wp-content=wp-content
          ;
    }
    # ------------------- (WebP Express rules ends here)
    }
    }

    But “redirection to converter”, “redirection to existing webp”, “WebP Realizer” tests are failed.
    At the same time I inspected page and saw in the “type” column “webp” pictures extension (it seems that the plugin works)

    How to understand why the tests failed and whether the plugin really works?
