• Hey, I am a newcomer to wordpress, hosting, etc.! So my knowledge is limited, but I am learning! I am not sure what happened, but my site lately isn’t loading, I’m getting a blank page. SOMETIMES it will load, but I am not able to update or select anything at the admin page. The dashboard will load, but if I go to click on anything I just get a lot of text. GoDaddy said the problem dealt with my .htaccess file, but couldn’t help me any further or point me in any direction. My .htaccess file itself seems to have a lot of text in it, but I don’t want to fool around with it till I know for sure what I should do. Do you know where I should look to solve the problem or what steps I could take? Thanks so much! Any help is appreciated!

try renaming your WordPress .htaccess file.

    try:

-deactivating ALL plugins temporarily to narrow down and possibly fix the problem. If the problem goes away, activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin.

If you don’t have access to your admin area, try deactivating them manually via FTP or phpMyAdmin.

-switching to the default theme (“twentyten”) for a moment by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes. The idea is to force WordPress to fall back to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific issue.

If you don’t have access to your admin area, then access your server via FTP or SFTP or whatever file management application your host provides.
