HTML-Block problems with table and shortcodes

Environment: WP 5.6, Gutenberg plugin version 9.8.2
Following code

<table>
[events_list]
<tr>
<td >Date</td>
<td>CATEGORYNAME</td>
<td>EVENTLINK</td>
</tr>
[/events_list]
</table>

works fine, but as soon as I try to edit it again I get the Attempt Block Recovery button.
Selecting Resolve or convert to Block corrupts this block.
Also occurs if I use other shortcodes, so its not an EVM issue

This poses problem since many not so skilled authors edit this page.

Only the change to html option allows to edit it.
