HTML Bold Function Not Working on "Pages"

When writing or publishing a post the “bold” function (HTML) works just fine. But whenever I am creating and writing a “PAGE” and try to ‘bold’ any text on the particular page, the resulting text appears as if I used something like <h4></h4> coding rather than just the “bold” coding or <b></b>. I get very large resulting text rather than a typical bold text.

Although I am not a whiz at HTML or CSS for that matter, I am assuming the problem I am having may have something to do with the particular theme I am using.
