html comment code issue

    Content in within html comment/hide code <!– –> is displaying on screen on my shop/home page.
    I rolled back to 5.2.1 issue was still there,
    rolled back to 5.2.0 issue still there,
    rolled back to 5.1.0 and problem gone

    I am using shopfront theme and latest wordpress with classic editor

    despite using disable automatic paragraphs the Inspect code indicated added paragraph tags
    <p><!-</p> and <p>-></p>
    This forced all within the comment code to display
