• Hi,
I installed WordPress for a client to use, to manage her blog and she is saying that she’s having a terrible time with the HTML editor. When I upgraded to 2.8.4 we had so many problems that we reverted back to 2.8.3

Here are her issues…can anyone help us figure out how to make this less troublesome for her?

It moves things around, it changes the code on you, it jumps around. I’m trying to make it an easier process than dicking around with the damn editor for 15 minutes trying to get a link to underline!

The editor in the newer version of WP that we had was better.

Things move around on their own. Every time I add or delete text, it bounces around and puts my cursor at the top, and I have to keep scrolling down to get to where I was. I cut and paste code, and it changes some of the characters. A real pain.

    thank you
    laura

    Also:

Blank lines are not consistent. You think you’ve got space between two sections, and they’re run together, or too far apart. WYSIWYG is not true.

I had the jumping cursor too, it was driving me crazy… every time i entered a space, or pasted or navigated out of the edit area the text was displayed from the top but the cursor remained in the correct location – i am in IE8. So i set my site to ‘compatibility view’ from IE8 tools menu option and that resolved the problem for me…
