• WooCommerce order emails are showing a lot of “??????????” for all text. This is occurring with Japanese Text. English text is fine. Not sure why this has changed recently. It was working.

Plain text emails are showing the Japanese text just fine. Only HTML is having a problem. Woo does not seem to think it is an issue with their plugin.

I double checked the WP_LANG and DB Charset and DB Collation settings. all are correct and the same.

    Really need help with this.

  • Can you show us the headers of the email with the incorrect text.

I have the email source, but not sure what part you want as the header.

Well that does not make me feel better.

I tested using the PHP mail option and get the same results. Looks like an issue with WooCommerce. Too bad their support is so slow.

If you come up with any ideas let me know.

The email subjects show up correctly. Just the HTML content is bad.
