html entities!

So I created a plugin that uses shortcodes. done.
I made a FAQ page so people can learn about it. done.

However whenever I try to type the shortcode so people can just see what you have to type, it runs the shortcode.(Ok I expected that)

So I use an html entity & # 9 1;(Without spaces) which == [
it works!

however if i go back to the post and make a change I have to continuously change [ to & # 9 1; (Without spaces)

any suggestions on to stop wordpress from changing it.

EDIT:
because www.ads-software.com changed the html entity also even in code tags. I spaced it out.
