I’ve just discovered that Swift SMTP generates well-formatted HTML email for the Welcome Email (for Users) and New User Notification Email (for Admins) but NOT the Reset Password Email.

Is this a bug in the plugin or is there another setting somewhere else that I need to enable?

By default, Swift SMTP has the email type set to plain text, to match WordPress’ default emails. If switching to HTML, all the emails will have to be formatted properly under the “Welcome Email Editor” tab to use HTML.

I didn’t hand code HTML for the Welcome Email but it did get sent with HTML formatting.

The three screenshots above show what I’m talking about. All three messages were created from the Welcome Email section of SWIFT, without any manual HTML formatting at all, using essentially the default messages provided by SWIFT.

Yet the Password Reset message does not show the same HTML formatting as the first two messages.

I’m at a loss to figure this out, since there doesn’t seem to be any difference in the back end composition of these three messages.

In Swift SMTP, do you have the content type set to Plain Text or HTML?

Both, the Header & Footer are not coming from Swift SMTP, so I’m guessing there’s another plugin at play here.

Investigating further, I realized that UsersWP is handling the sending of these email messages, although the content of the Welcome email and Admin notice is coming from SWIFT. Thank you for your replies. I will troubleshoot further.

    Cheers!
