    Hi everyone

Just rebooting an old website: got a link issue

We used to enter links in html in written posts/articles, as in LINK

But it’s not linking: just showing the code text

Wordpress auto links not a good option as closes down the page

    Any advice greatly appreciated

    Thanks ??

  • Hi,

Can you share your web page (containing the link not showing) here so we can take a look and advise?

    Hi there websprout

Many thanks for getting back to us – I think it’s sorted: it looks like html link code may have changed..perhaps I can check with you…

So for instance originally I wrote this

    CCNs Home Page?</p>
    <p>4 – More to come ?? ???</p>

    Which didn’t show a link

Then I used the auto-link option instead, and switched the view to code (text): when I edited that with a ‘target_blank’ so that it opened a second page and didn’t leave the website, the code automatically defaulted to this:

    CCNs Home Page?</p>
    <p>4 – More to come ?? ???</p>

    Which now works

Maybe you’ve some insight in to this, if so let us know, many thanks

Bound to have more questions, so very grateful for your help

    Best Wishes

Hello again – I put code direct in to the message above and of course it’s showing as a link: left brackets off this time, hope that allows you to view the code itself..

    Which didn’t show a link
