HTML <br> auto-inserted?

This <br> tag is just one example of my code editor ove-ridding my entries once I save.

I try to make changes in the code editor, but on saving the code reverts to it’s own format. I have examined the stylesheet but don’t see where the changes that are happening are even defined.

Specifically, on this page https://www.capforge.com/freereport/ a br tag shows up after the word email. It isn’t there in the code section, and when I reformat and save, it reverts.

I also can’t get the line under that to have a line break, using the p tag, br tag or anything else.

Why won’t my html tag changes save and show on the actual displayed page?
