HTML not previewing as it is

Hello,

Previewing HTML email is always pretty tricky since most of the emails are designed to render properly in email clients and not in browser.

Added to that we have to restrict certain things (like external JavaScript, CSS etc) for security reasons. Otherwise someone can send you an email from your contact form with embedded JavaScript which will be executed when an admin previews the email.

Please give us some screenshots and also mail content where the preview is broken and we will see if we can use that to improve the preview.

So the mail logging plugin uses external CSS & JS, that’s why the preview looks nice, as it is?

I am not sure if that is the case with the other plugin since I have not seen the code, but that’s a very high possibility.

Please send me a screenshot/html of the breaking preview so that we can see if there is a way to fix it.

Are you using external stylesheet files in the html?

Hmm, I don’t quite understand what you mean.

The styles in the screenshots are just colors picked with:

Thanks for providing all the details. I see the reason why the preview look different.

I have created a todo for us at https://github.com/sudar/email-log/issues/125 to track this issue.
