  • Hello pancakesandpush-ups,

If you turn off all your plugins, does the CSS that’s present, disappear?

    .site-content .entry-header, .site-content .entry-content, .site-content .entry-summary, .site-content .entry-meta, .page-content { margin: 0 auto; max-width: 100%; }

Would I have to turn off all the plug ins individually?
Thanks so much for responding! Been trying for hours with no luck!

It would quickly establish if a plugin was the entity causing trouble.

so deactivate all of them? will do now…

ok just deactivated all of them and HTML is still there. So it’s not the plug ins.
    Any other suggestions?

Have you played around with your Twenty Fourteen theme?

I have done everything i know..I do see it say “uncategorized” on top of it. I wonder if that has anything to do with it? I have also looked for the html in Editor with no luck.

I feel like it has something to do with comments for some reason?

In the Twenty Fourteen theme, the comment area is below the previous/next post navigation. Did you modify your theme in any way?

Its actually above the post – i tried moving it to the bottom with no luck. I MAY have done something there?

Probably. Unless you can revert your changes to exactly the way they were prior to any shifting you did, I would suggest that you temporarily switch to Twenty Fifteen and then re-install a new version of Twenty Fourteen.

If you made changes to your functions.php file or made any custom changes directly to your theme (and not a child themerecommended), you should save your version of Twenty Fourteen before you do a re-install so you can put those changes back in easily.

how do I save the version? Thanks again for your help ??
and if I save the version aren’t i putting the same thing back into the theme?

ok figured out how to export. Now do I do the same with importing it back in?

You should download your current /wp-content/themes/twentyfourteen/ directory using your file manager or FTP client.

What I’m suggesting is that you get your site back to working order with a clean version of Twenty Fourteen. Once that’s established, you add back in the things you may have done to your theme. I’m recommending that you retain your old Twenty Fourteen files to help get things back to the way they were, but I’m not suggesting you just dump the old back in with the new. That would get you back to where you are right now.

Additionally, I would also suggest that you create a child theme to work with the parent theme, Twenty Fourteen.

This will aid you in developing your site, providing an opportunity to make changes that will allow you to fall back to a working version should something happen (like you’re currently experiencing).

Ugh. Switched themes, went back to 2014 and its still there!
