HTML Only Shows [shortcode]

    Can’t get the slider, just [shortcode] in botique homepage widget, under header.

  • Hi @celestial-petals, it looks like you’re using a text widget, but they don’t support shortcodes out of the box. Does this sound right?

    You can try using the new “Custom HTML” widget which should work, otherwise you have two options:

    Use a plugin (beginner):
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/shortcode-widget/

    Add this to functions.php (advanced):
    add_filter('widget_text','do_shortcode');

    Yep, thanks. I did install the shortcode-widget but never activated it because I thought either the text or html was supposed to work. I did activate it and gave it a try – it works fine with the slider shortcode.

    Still, thought that the text or html was supposed to work with shortcodes.
