i’ve been using the accordion feature of your plugin and have noticed that i can edit in wysiwyg and make text bold, etc, but when i save it and view the result the strong html code has been stripped out of the content
is it possible to edit and display using my own formatting?

Hi @chemboy,
Thank you for connecting us.
Could you please share with me you content which you want to save with Accordion?this is the content in text [html] format, written in the accordian wysiwyg pane:

There are three other types of content you can add to the website and that will automatically be included in our monthly eBulletins that go out on the 1st of each month and will be shared to our social media channels:

Opportunities - Add an opportunity - You can add a wide range of listings to this section, including but not exclusively: studio space, call outs for exhibitions and competitions, commissions, announcements, support, funding, training, news, etc. For example you could provide details of the forthcoming term's courses or workshops with information about how to book to promote that bookings are open. This is also where you should advertise available studio or workshop spaces, or a call out to take part in an exhibition or group show. The latest stories will be featured on the homepage, older listings are displayed in Opportunities.

What's on - Create an event - basically anything with a start and end date should go in the What's On area of the website. For example exhibitions, a workshop or class, open studio, performance, artist talk, etc. The latest events will be listed on the homepage, older listings are displayed in What's On.

Jobs - Create a job advert and include the expiry date.

Adding this type of content is very similar to adding a Creative Directory listing, but there are a few additional things you need to do:

To Start: Log in here, select either Opportunities, What's on or Jobs from the left hand menu and choose 'Add New' to be presented with a new page with the following fields/boxes, fill them in as follows:

Add Title: Type in the title of the job or opportunity or the name of your event (workshop, exhibition, film, talk course, arts trail, etc).

Body: In the big white box below the title type or copy and paste two or three paragraphs outlining the job, event or opportunity. Also make sure you include the website address for the venue, job, opportunity, etc and details of opening hours and ticket costs, etc too. Tip - If you want to make some of the text in your description bold, highlight it and then select the B icon in the beige banner above the Body text box you are entering you text into. Roll over the other icons in this bar to find out what they do - you won't need to use most of them, but some of them might be useful for formatting your description.

Please Note - If you're copying content from another source, like Word or another website, there's a chance it contains hidden formatting which will affect how the post displays. Thankfully there's a tool to handle that on the second line of buttons called 'Paste as text', which will strip any formatting out of it and display the post properly. If you can't see the second line of buttons, click on the 'Toolbar Toggle' button, fourth from the right.

Links: To make a link live you need to highlight the web address and click on the Insert/edit Link button. The pop-up should contain the URL so just press apply and you'll notice the text becomes underlined.

Opportunities/Event Types: Select the type of event or opportunity that you are listing from the right hand side menu. NB: Not applicable for Jobs listings.

Featured Image: Next click the 'Set Featured Image' link and a new window will appear showing your available images. If you want to upload the new image, select 'Upload files' and find it on your computers' hard drive. Find your preferred image/photograph and click on it, then click the open button and wait for your image to upload, then click save. Click 'Remove featured image' under the image if you want to remove this image to select a different one from your hard drive. Tip - for best results images/photographs should be at about 1280 pixels wide and should be saved as jpegs at 72dpi. WordPress will resize huge images to be more browser friendly. If you change your mind you can click 'Remove featured image' next the featured image if you want to remove this image to select a different one from your hard drive.

File Attachments: You can also attach Word documents and/or PDF documents to your listings so that visitors can download them, for example applications forms or more information documents. Please note - the link to download your document will appear in your description. To attach a document click the 'Add Media' box just above the description box, select 'Upload files' and then 'Select files' to browse your hard drive to find the document you want to attach, select the pdf or word doc and click open, then make sure you fill in the Title box with the name of the document and click the blue 'Insert' button and a text link will be added to your description. NB you can move this to wherever you want it in your description by copying and pasting.

Please Note - The What's on section has two further information fields which require filling in that aren't required for Job listings:

Event start date: Below the description you must add in the date your event starts. When you click in this box a little calendar appears use the arrows to move forward of backward through the months and then click on the date you event starts. This field is mandatory.

Event location: Add the location of the event. If your event is online, write 'online'. This field is mandatory as people need to know where the event is taking place.

Set Expiry Date: This is important - we need to you set the expiry date for your listings to stop them being displayed on the website so that people don't apply for jobs after the closing date or turn up at an event that has ended. To do this look for the PublishPress Future below the Featured Image section on the right hand menu. Set the date your opportunity or event or job finishes. This might be the same day as the start date if you're event is only on for one day.

Don’t Forget: Once you’ve finished click the blue ‘Publish’ button at the top of the right side menu to save your listing. You can view your completed listing by selecting ‘Preview’.
