.html vs .php

  • Hi I’ve been working all day to figure this issue out. I am working on a site for a client who has already programmed a layout via .html but from what I’ve read wordpress is based on .php. So I am guessing that is why I am unable to apply a theme or customize it. Is anyone willing to help me solve this issue?

  • That’s a very broad topic. You should look online for tutorials onto how to convert static HTML to a WordPress theme. Having some knowledge on PHP is also probably required. Tuts has a decent tutorial – maybe starting there and coming back with specific questions would be more helpful.
