  • Hi Johanna,

The short answer is no, because this is the <head> section of the page, and adding a <div> there would surely cause more errors. I’ll see if we can add itemscope to the <html> tag in a future version, but obviously this must be done carefully, and will also depend on themes being coded properly.

    Thanks Peter!

Is there a way to delete the [itemprop=”image”] from the automatic plugin results, or alternatively is there a way to put the missing meta itemscope into the automatic code, so the Markup Validation Service W3C errors can be overcome? From what was said in previous post-these validation errors might be out of date- So are you saying that the itemscope is no longer needed to properly build the meta tags?

    Hi mcolestock,

As far as I know, I don’t think we add itemprop=”image” anywhere. However, our Social Meta module does now add an itemscope attribute, so you can see if enabling that under the Feature Manager helps with validation. I should also mention that as far as SEO goes, W3C validation is not a ranking factor for Google.
