  • Hi,

I’d love to help, although I may be misunderstanding what’s happening…

Nonetheless, contrary to that link… you only put id:my_id_here and class:my_class_here instead of using html_id="my_id_here" and html_class="my_class_here". I’m not sure when the switch happened but that’s what gets it to work for me (and how CF7 builds them in the forms with the “wizard” on the side).

Hope this gets you what you need!

I used html_id=”contact-form-1234″ as outlined in the link I included in my original post.

    [contact-form-7 id=”7995″ title=”Message Form” html_id=”wpcf7-footer-form”]

    Thanks.

    You’re welcome!

If your problem is resolved, don’t forget to mark it as such in the sidebar. Thank you! =)

I think you misunderstand. My problem is NOT resolved.

    Thanks.

Did you follow the instructions in the link you gave? Those are INCORRECT – do not follow them or it will not work.

To add an ID, use id:my_id
To add a class, use class:my_class

    Have you tried those?

Wait… I was reading “element” and thinking the form tags… My apologies – I was on a completely different page…

You were right in how to format the class/ID for the entire form. I’m not sure why you’re having an error, other than a conflict with another plugin or theme.

If you have not already, try disabling all other plugins and reverting to a default theme. If that does not work, manually reinstall CF7 and test with just the fresh CF7 and the default theme. Hopefully that will help. If so, start adding in the plugins and theme one-by-one.

Sorry for the confusion earlier. I should have caught my misunderstanding with your initial follow-up post.
