when I activated the plugin and configured page cache and other modules everything in the backend
was fine but when I logged out and try to access it gives HTTP 500 error.
I looked for a solution on the web and I found it was an error related to htaccess rewrite.
I deleted my htaccess and I was able to access my site.
where should the code by w3tc be appended to
    before #BEGIN WORDPRESS OR
    after #BEGIN WORDPRESS

I also want to know what else could be the reason for HTTP 500 error?

    Hello,

The W3TC rules should be before WordPress rules. In most cases.
The issue would be if the WP rules are somewhere in between W3TC begin and W3TC end.
Corrupted .htaccess or maybe some plugin conflict can cause 500 error too.
