• I can’t believe this. I was merely updating my permalinks structure today and when I clicked update I got a white screen stating this error:
    “500 Server Error
A misconfiguration on the server caused a hiccup. Check the server logs, fix the problem, then try again.”

Now when I try to access my blog or login or do anything with my blog, I get a “page cannot be displayed” page with “HTTP 500 internal server error” showing up in the title bar.

What do I do now? I have spent a massive amount of time on my blog and all my files seem to still be on the server. Can anyone determine anything from the .htaccess file or even error_log possibly?

I can’t believe this has happened. My blog address is movierentalclubguide.com/blog , but nothing is up currently.

    Desparately seeking help,
    John

    anyone have any ideas?

I’d do what the message says and check your server logs. They’re usually fairly descriptive. It’d be something silly like a misplaced period or whitespace where it shouldn’t be.
