I cant go to bed until I get it working again and I cant get it working because I dont know what to do! Seriously stressed out here

Sadly no, again I just volunteer the odd bit of my time in order to point people in the right direction and help where I can. I always advise you should either continue to try and contact the person who built the original site, or hire someone with those skills.

Esmi posted a link to the WordPress jobs board where you can post a description of your problem and hire someone to fix it, someone should definitely be able to help you there.

    Sorry I’m unable to help.

Thanks anyway. God knows what I will do now then.

Ask if your hosting does full site backups? And if possible ask them to roll back your wordpress + database back to an earlier time before you did any upgrades?

This could reset your website back to when it worked properly, and then I would suggest not clicking any update buttons until you get in touch with your friend.

My hosting is closed, my friend is awol, my wesbite is dead, my head is sore, my business is buggered.

Any idea how much it would cost to get someone to look into it

It’s after 1 now, not much can be done. First thing in the morning, try getting in touch with your hosting.

Generally the cost is relatively to how much work needs to be done, people have to have a guess basically, so I have no idea, it will be a ballpark figure.

Hire someone if this is your business.

    Check https://codepoet.com or https://jobs.wordpress.net

Deleted your ‘modlook’ bumps. That’s not how you do it.

We told you what to do, AND we told you where to hire people if you need someone with more technical expertise. It’ll cose you between $50 and $200, depending on who you hire and what it is.

Excuse me but I looked up how to get the post deleted and was told to put modlook to ask someone! our website is fine now. We are trying to get the post deleted because our google adwords isnot searched enough yet but when customers put in our web url they are getting this post in their search first…not the way we really need to have our company represented!

Maybe before you jump to conclusions you should ask why people are asking to speak to a moderator.

You were told to TAG your post modlook (see the right side of this screen? There are TAGS).

And no, we don’t delete posts.

Well you managed to delete my posts yesterday within a matter of seconds…so clearly you have the ability?

I am at a loss to understand the tone of your contact, is there a point in being so pedantic or do you just get a “Hitler complex” because you have “Mod” next to your name?

Now, can I ask once more, WordPress can take sensitive information from posts, I would consider the website url coming up in the top Google searches pretty lacking in usefulness for all involved so, yet again, can I ask for those references to be deleted.

Furthermore, the issue was nothing that is mentioned here, the solution was also nothing as is mentioned here and so the post in all would not be of any assistance to anyone, hence why I marked it as closed!

can I ask for those references to be deleted

t is not the general policy to edit or delete forum posts. When a post is made and people contribute answers to an issue, that then becomes part of the community resource for others to benefit from and deleting posts removes this added value. In extreme circumstances, members of the moderation team might be persuaded to remove sensitive information that has been included in posts accidentally – but your best course of action is not to publish anything that you wouldn’t want to be public. (Remember too that other sites take archive copies of the forums, and we can do nothing to control that.)

    Your case is not extreme.

`Thanks Esmi, we dont want the whole thread removed and understand the policy but it would really help if just the references to our website (there are two in the thread) could be taken out because its directing all our traffic here and really causing problems. I appreciate your help.
