• Resolved HideTheGarlic

Hi all, I’ve been having a few technical difficulties recently. My site’s wp-admin seems to be very glitchy recently. When trying to look at orders on my site it immediately leads to an error saying:

This page isn’t working (my site) is currently unable to handle this request.
    HTTP ERROR 500

I can reload the page and it will eventually load, but it does get annoying. I’m not sure if this is just a glitch or more of an overall indictment on my site. I’ve tried increasing the PHP limit and upgraded to php 7.2 recently. Thanks in advance for your help.

  • I also started having this issue once I updated from 3.9 to 4.0. I am currently on 4.2 and was still having the problem. I believe it is an issue with php not having enough memory to run. The way to fix it will depend on how your site is hosted.

@hidethegarlic Were you able to get your issue sorted? A 500 error could be many, many things, including memory as @rlltiderll mentioned. Typically errors are logged under WooCommerce > Status > Logs in the logs named fatal-errors, and most of the time they can help determine what is going wrong.

One of the next steps is conflict troubleshooting, which is outlined here:

Hi Jesse, thanks for your help, sorry its taken me so long to get back to this. This is error message in Woocommerce log:

2020-08-02T10:48:25+00:00 CRITICAL Out of memory (allocated 122159104) (tried to allocate 888832 bytes) in /home/cluster-sites/7/n/nitryl.co.uk/public_html/wp-admin/includes/admin.php on line 32

@hidethegarlic The next step would be conflict troubleshooting, as mentioned above: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/

It sounds like another plugin is using up all of the memory available on the server, deactivating everything but WooCommerce should help locate where the issue is coming from.

If you still need further help, please create a new thread.
