• Hello-
I’m having trouble downloading any themes from wp.org to either of my 2 wp sites. I’m working from admin under themes-manage themes. The text: “You only have one theme enabled for this site right now” provides two links-one, an option to “enable” themes(none there to enable), the other to “install”, providing a link to a search box from which to download themes. I go there. I type in a theme from the .org site, using the search criteria of both”author” and “term”. I promptly receive the message, “An Unexpected HTTP Error occurred during the API request. Try again.” I do, nada. I DO have a site up, but I would like to practice with different themes and am unsure how to progress. Can anyone knowledgeable provide any clear direction for me, please?

  • This is usually caused by an issue with your hosts’ server configuration. They may be blocking access from your dashboard to the Themes site. Try installing themes manually instead.
