HTTP error on uploading PDF – rather urgent query

    I’m adding material to the Producer theme, and having a problem with uploading a 7mb PDF to the Media Library.

    It appears to be a ‘clean’ PDF, but each upload attempt fails saying ‘HTTP error’.

    I’ve tried converting to JPG, but I get the same error.

    Could anyone advise me what is causing this error?

    As an emergency measure I’ve tried uploading to a separate image-hosting site, but on upload the PDF is split into a dozen jpg files, which is causing problems.

    It may have to do with max size setting of the server.

    Here’s the link when you can read about how to increase it.

    You can also upload the file via FTP.

    My hosting outfit increased my allowance to 250Mb, but I still had a problem with the HTTP error.

    So I used FTP, and there was no problem.
