Why do I find this same topic all over the forum but there is never any solution for it? At least not from the WordPress admins..

Is this caused by some bug in the latest update and it will be solved by the WordPress developers, or is this something we have to figure out and manually add or subtract some code from some files?

My issue is when I try to add images to new portfolio items in my BigBang premium theme. I uploaded the whole site about a month ago and all image uploading worked just fine then but now when the client tries to add new portfolio items to their site they get the HTTP Error when trying to upload images.

I really hope this gets resolved soon as it is really frustrating ??

Thanks for any help or tips!

Because people will insist on posting instead of searching first.

No. It’s a site or server specific issue. Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

Thanks for the fast reply Esmi! ??

I tried those four solutions one by one and none of them works.

    1. I deactivated every single plugin but still the same HTTP Error.
    2. So I guess it is not the theme since I got the same error with Twenty Elleven.
    3. I reseted the plugins using FilleZilla according to the instructions on the link you have me but still the same.
    4. I deleted all the files except wp-content using Fillezilla and then uploaded a fresh WordPress download. Still the same ??

If it is none of those do you have any other idea what it might be?

It could be an issue with the mod_security settings on your server but you’d need to ask your hosts about this.

Ok I will talk the my hosting provider to see if they can tell me whats wrong. Thanks again for the help Esmi.

I will post here tomorrow after I have talked to them.

So I talked to my hosting provider and it seems like there were som errors on the “error_log”. The Fast CGI was running with standard settings which limited the upload. They changed the settings on the server globally and now it works perfectly ??
