    Hi,

I’ve been running my blog on WP.org since early 2007 and I have changed hosts a couple of times over the last few months because of limits that suspended my account.

I think I found a reliable host now, but I keep having HTTP errors a few times a day. Knowing that I always exported/imported my MySQL database and download/upload my files a bunch of times, plus upgrades from WP 2.3 up to 2.8. Is it possible that my install is corrupted and that I should start fresh with a fresh install?

Is that kind of reformat something that should be considered when hosting a WP blog?

I never got such errors with other hosts, so either my install is getting bad or it’s my host that has problems serving my viewers… no?

Thanks esmi, but it’s not the image uploader, it can be any page. View Stats, Extensions, it happened a few times while posting an article, just browsing around the admin menu.

    Any other suggestions?

    It just happened again.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?

    – re-uploading all files & folder (except wp-content and your wp-config.php file) from a fresh download of WordPress?

    – repairing your database?

    – repairing database, yes with optimize regularly
    – re-uploading all files, yes with 2.8.6 I did this
    – switching to default theme, no but my theme is unchanged for over 1 year and the problems are recent (since my last host change)

-deactivating plugins, yes I had another problem that was caused by a pluging and I had do to this. it did not change anything.

the more I think of it the more I’m accusing my host… but I just noted that I have a huge error log with this error message:

Erreur de la base de données WordPress MySQL server has gone away pour la requête

I’ll check with my host on that one. first, but a friend suggested me another host Webfaction so I might just transfer everything there.

Erreur de la base de données WordPress MySQL server has gone away pour la requête

Sounds like your host has MySql server problems.

Yeah, that’s what they said. Too much traffic on that server.. Guess I’ll have to find another host with less crowded servers…

It’s been OK for the last two days so I guess the problems should go down. I’ll monitor.

    Thanks!
