http or www?

All URLs are URIs… but not all URIs are URLs.
https://www.bernzilla.com/item.php?id=100
There is one good reason why you’d want to use https://site.com as opposed to https://www.site.com:
There can be issues with the way cookies are set. If your cookie is set as https://www.site.com, the user cannot access it if they go to site.com
And of course, the www is trite and redundant. What if you have to send mail to [email protected]?

Thanks for your response. I get the point about URIs vs. URLs but fail to understand the point you are trying to make about www. Why is it “trite and redundant”?
What are the issues with cookies? Are you saying that what one places in the URI wordpress address/blog address field determines the address to which the cookie is set? Are you saying that if it’s set to https://site.com a user can go to both https://site.com & https://www.site.com? And why on earth would a user want to go to (or would I want a user to go to) https://site.com (I’m presuming you mean https://site.com where you say site.com ?) instead of https://www.site.com….prticularly when the site address I am giving out and that people are linking to is https://www.site.com?
Also why would anyone be sending email to [email protected] when any email to my site would be in the form [email protected]?
