Hi @ron22, thanks for the detailed message.

May I ask if you’re the site owner/administrator? If so, the block page you’re seeing suggests that a normal plugin/site operation is being blocked as a false-positive so long as you’re certain that the form contains data/files you allow to be submitted.

You can identify the cause by looking at the records that match the timestamp(s) when you were blocked in your Live Traffic page. When clicking any block line (or “eye” icon) to expand it, it will state the reason in red text. Sometimes your own brute force/rate limiting settings (or others) can be too strict. Other times, you may see why the Wordfence firewall decided to block them if it wasn’t caused by your own settings.

Sometimes an “ADD PARAM TO FIREWALL ALLOWLIST” button appears in this section which you can click to allow these types of request in future.

Failing that, Learning Mode can help allow normal operations if they’re being blocked. From the Wordfence Dashboard click on Manage WAF. Then you will see Basic Firewall Options > Web Application Firewall Status. Change the option to Learning Mode. Try filling out the form again to teach Wordfence these are normal operations and should be allowed in future. After you are satisfied you’ve done that, switch the WAF from Learning Mode back to Enabled and Protecting.

    Thanks,
    Peter.

“After you are satisfied” how would I know to be satisfied … is filling the form without getting the error once means wordfence now knows this is OK?

    Hi @ron22,

Yes, if you’re able to submit without receiving the same error, it should mean that Wordfence has allowed the action and can be turned back to “Enabled and Protecting”.

    Thanks again,
    Peter.
