• I’ve been using mailpoet for some time now and the URL to the post in the mails sent have always been like https://blabla…

Yesterday, the subscribers received a mail with URL to the post starting with https://blabla&#8230; And it doesn’t work, they get a “Not found” error message in their browser and “The requested URL <path> was not found on this server.”

So far, I don’t understand why mailpoet has turned the links to https.

I don’t know of any update in WP nor mailpoet.

FORCE_SSL_ADMIN is set to true in wp-config.php, but it’s not new and the previous mailpoet sent mail are using http, not https.

I wonder what’s going on, and how to turn back mailpoet to send mails the subscribers might click in to read the whole post (without needing to turn the URL to http instead of https, the current workaround…).

    Any idea ?

    Thanks.

    Still investigating on this…

I just created a newsletter for testing purpose. In that fresh newsletter I just added the last post (as of the previous newsletter) and the URL in the mail I received is using http links, not https…

So… I still don’t understand why and how the previous mail used https links and what I should expect for the next automatic newsletters!

I guess I’ll have to ckeck the wp_wysija_url record before the mail is sent… ??

    Hi @manu.p,

Thanks for all the info and for contacting us in support.mailpoet.com, we’ll continue with you there to debug your issue ??

    Thanks!

Hi, still facing this issue in my last newsletter, while the previous was using http.

On my side, I don’t see anything but FORCE_SSL_ADMIN set to true in wp-config.php to be the potential cause of this strange behaviour.

Am I the only mailpoet user to force https for admin connections?

Let’s give it a try and I switch FORCE_SSL_ADMIN to false in order to test it for the next newsletters…

That might cause a problem yes, the current version of MailPoet doesn’t handle HTTPS that well…

    Hi,

Was a solution found for this problem? My news letters are all sent with https and I don’t have force_ssl_admin in my wp-config.php file.
My certificate is self-signed and I don’t use it on any part of the site. I sometimes use it to login to the admin interface.

Here’s a link to the latest news letter.

    Thanks,

Update to the latest version 2.6.19 and check if it’ll work.

Problem occurred one my site today, too! On 2.6.19!

I am getting a similar behavior on 2.6.19 (with premium 2.6.17) where we’ve converted our site to HTTPS but HTML email clients like Microsoft Outlook can not preview any of the content.

@409industries that’s a different issue, not related to MailPoet.

    @mailpoet Staff

How is this a separate issue?

I am using this plugin for 2 years. I have forced the use of HTTPS in the admin only and I do not have a signed certificate.

Yesterday, I enabled the crontab and configured plesk to hit the relevant link every hour.

The newsletter that arrived has https links and some users cannot see the newsletter images.

My issue was that since the admin interface is in https connection, the link provided by mailpoet to use in the cron job, uses also https connection.

Correcting this, (turning https to http in the cron job link) everything works as usual.
