• This is my situation (and a beer is on the way if you can help!):

I am upgrading my website to use wordpress (site.com). In addition to my outward facing pages, which I want to control with wordpress, I have a secure database that I host myself that clients need to log into over https. (site.com/memberplan/#)

I am up and running with the wordpress site on the virtual host. I am getting a “can’t trust the SSL certificate” error when I attempt to log into the secure site. I don’t want to control the secure pages with WP, I want them to live outside.

Any thoughts on how to resolve this? I am tearing my hair out.

A beer on me if you can help (or two if it’s a big pain).

Thank you in advance for your thoughts/help.

  • is this a self signed cert or one you have purchased from a trusted authority? If self signed, that would be why…

    Hi zackl111,

This is usually caused by a self-signed certificate as toekneeh said. If you purchased an SSL certificate for the domain and you’re getting the error, you’ll have to contact the certificate’s issuer to have the certificate fixed.

    Thanks,
    Mike
