1) Yes, that’s possible with a little custom css:

2) Yes, you can use Theme Options > Header > Custom Logo to upload an image, or you can set a header background image using custom css. Here are a couple of references:

Do I simply post the code you provided into my style.css in my child theme?

And then change the color code you put as #ff0 to the color I want? Which will be a very pale peach or off white.

I will not post a header photo for this site. I think it will distract.

BUT I would love to make the Logo a bit larger, if possible.

Yes, in your child theme style.css file, and change the color as desired. Can you post a link to your site so we can see the logo? Thanks.
