Thank you for taking over half of the WordPress dashboard with your giant ad. It motivated me to remove your plugin and install EWWW Image Optimizer instead.

    Hi @delayedinsanity

We’re sorry, and apologize, that our BF ad caused disturbance for you.

The banner will automatically disappear tomorrow from the plugin. Also, I’ve discussed this matter with the team and we’ve taken this feedback into consideration and will act accordingly in the future.

We try to provide real value for users in our free plugins and we hate to see you going for the banner issue that we are going to consider in the future.

We’ve built the banner to be dismissible, show only once (for Admins only) before dismissal, and appear for a limited number of days. The real intention of why we put it on WP Dashboard page is that we are offering a very good value offer on Black Friday this year and we don’t want people who are interested in our services to miss it as last year’s banner that appeared on the plugins page somehow wasn’t noticeable because most users set Smush to automatically compress images on upload and don’t visit plugin’s pages again. Definitely, this doesn’t mean that we don’t understand your concern or that we are not going to consider it but wanted to share with you the intention.

Thanks for your feedback and sorry again for any disturbance.

    Kind Regards,
    Mo
