Huge gap between content and footer in IE, help please

Hi all,

I’ve worked out the other issues I had with my theme, but this is the last problem I have. Everything looks great in firefox and chrome but internet explorer strikes again!

I’ve looked around the forums and googled but I don’t know how to fix this…

I’ve used a website to see what it looks like using different versions of IE.

In IE 8 the footer jumps up right under the content and gets squeezed so it is too small to read everything. The sidebar where I put the social media gets cut in half.

In IE 7 and lower versions there’s a huge gap between the content and the footer, and for some reason the anything under the contact us in the sidebar also gets pushed down.

I know there are problems with CSS and IE but does anyone know how to fix this? This website is for a friend’s business so I want to fix this as soon as possible.
