• Hello,

I am trying to install a Huge IT Portfolio with links to embedded video files from Vimeo on a page of my Harmonic themed webpage, katztale.com.

I have been encountering errors when I install the portfolio on the page. The error reads, “Nothing Found”. I contacted Huge IT and was told that the error is derived from the Harmonic Theme.

    Could you advise?

    Thank you. I appreciate assistance.

  • Hi @sarahnova!

Can you tell me a little more about the steps you’re taking to set up the Portfolio?

It would also help if the page that’s giving you trouble were visible so we can try to take a look ??

    Hi Chad,

Thank you so much. I appreciate your help. I enabled the Portfolio page so that it is now visible with the erro.

These are the steps that I took. I added the Portfolio by Huge IT in the Plugins section. The Huge-IT Portfolio is now available under “Settings” on the WordPress menu. I clicked on the Huge-IT Portfolio and added a new tab titled, “Video Samples” and added links to three video clips. I saved this work.

Then I added a new page titled “Portfolio” and clicked on the page to edit. An “Add Portfolio Gallery” is visible at the top of the new page.

When I click “Add Portfolio Gallery” I can select the new “Video Samples” portfolio and this appears “[huge_it_portfolio id=”3″]” however I encounter the error when I try to view the page.

I use a similar portfolio for the Bonus Features on my film’s website here but do not encounter the same error: https://www.mooseheadswickedgoodplan.com/bonus-features-2/

I hope that is helpful or provides clues to what is happening. I contacted Huge-IT and gave them access to the back end of the site but they told me that it was an issue with the Harmonic Theme and I should contact the theme admins.

    Thank you!!

    Best Regards,
    Sarah

    Hi Sarah!

I’m not seeing a page named ‘Portfolio’ on your site, you may need to add it to your navigation menu.

It is interesting that Huge-IT described this as a theme issue when the other portfolio (Bonus Features) is working properly. Did they provide any other details that might tell us what they were seeing? ??

    Thanks Chad!

I’m not sure why it isn’t visible to you. I have loaded the page in browsers that I am not logged into as an administrator and I can see “Portfolio” on the top right hand side of the page. Are you still not seeing it?

This is what HUGE IT said, “looks like the problem is in your page. We entered and just wrote a simple text in that page , see https://katztale.com/?page_id=256 again nothing is shown. please try to contact your theme support and ask them why this happens”

HUGE-IT created a Test page which I just reactivated. The test page seems to successfully publish the videos. Are you able to see the test page? Perhaps I should delete my original page and work from theirs.

Ah, there it is ?? I missed that they were on two separate sites, sorry!

The message looks like the theme is trying to load the default portfolio page, which is empty.

Let’s try this, pull up the list of pages in your dashboard, and edit the page where you’ve put the problematic HUGE-IT portfolio.

On the editor, just below the title, the address of your page is shown, it should say:

Permalink: https://katztale.com/portfolio/ – does it say that? Or something slightly different?

If it does say that, does that link work? If it doesn’t, that’s our problem – you’ll want to use Appearance > Menus to make sure the ‘Portfolios’ link is pointing to your page instead of the default Portfolio page.

Let me know what you find for the Permalink. If your page does show https://katztale.com/portfolio/ as the permalink, I’d recommend deleting your page and trying a brand new one ??

Ok, yes, the Permalink does say https://katztale.com/portfolio/

I will try deleting and creating a new page.

I did try deleting the page and creating a new one and I encounter the same error. ??

    Ah, I see what’s happening now ??

Harmonic tries to use the Portfolio that’s included in Jetpack whenever the /portfolio page loads on your site. The problem is that specific address.

    Two possible solutions:

    1. Use a different address (change the permalink we just checked) something like ‘my-portfolio’ or ‘past-projects’ for example.

    2. Under Jetpack > Settings > Writing, you can disable the Custom Content Types module (this will also turn off Testimonials).

If you experience any lingering options after option 2, try switching to a different theme (like the default Twenty Sixteen) for a moment, and then re-activating Harmonic, with the Custom Content Types still disabled.

Great! You’re correct. I changed the address from Portfolio to Work and that fixed the problem.

    Thank you so much!

    Sarah

You’re welcome! Glad you’re up and running ??
