HUGE PROBLEM – images switched between 2 product with look alike names

    Hi Jordy.

    There is a HUGE problem with your Media Renamer plugin.

    I have some products on my Woocommerce store which have look-alike name like:

    – phone charger for android

    – android phone charger bracelet.

    The names are not the same, it is 2 different products.

    After bulk renaming my images (8000+ images) I see some images that are inverted between products!

    And it only happens with products having similar (but not same) names..;.

    Please fix this issue ASAP, now I have to check my +900 product images… it’s supposed to be a time saver, now it’s the contrary.

    Plus I’m a pro version user.

    Sory to be harsh but it’s really annoying, to say the least.

    Hi,

    Sorry about the issue. But actually, the plugin in its current version is working for many thousands of users, and among them, there is about 30% of WooCommerce users. I doubt there is a big bug about it, but of course, as a plugin that messes with files, anything can happen, and a tiny imperceptible user error can also lead to that (and it happened many times in the past, that’s why I am saying it, but I am not saying it happened in your case).

    Then the best would be to be able to reproduce the bug on a fresh install that I can provide you. On my side, I ran a quick test but everything is working fine. There are too many factors and it might be a mix of the plugins you use exactly, your settings and your exact process.

    If there is a bug, that will be definitely fixed ASAP.

    Same problem of switching images with similar names. What was the problem and the solution here.

    Hi @raulst,

    Do you think you could try to replicate the bug? If you can find a way for me to experience it, I will definitely find a fix.

    I can also share a fresh install of WordPress for testing if you like.
