• Hi all,

I’ve had a wordpress site running now for quite some time, and I’m jumping to a new server.

I’ve noticed that, when backing up my wp-content folder (all 6GBs of it), I’m getting a LOT of failures – about 1 in every 6/5 images fails.

After quite a lot of research into this, I can confirm that almost all images that are used for the “featured image” in an article, and are unable to copy off my server.

I’ve tried several FTP programs to retrieve the files, and various other tactics, but they appear to be stuck on the server. When I try to copy them off, I get a permissions error.

I’ve contacted my hosting company, and they’ve told me they’ve done everything they can to change/confirm permissions – yet the problem remains.

Interestingly, when I go into my media bank, then the unnattached tab, quite a number of the failing images exist there.

    Has anyone else encountered this?

    Thanks,
    e

    UPDATE:

I’ve noticed that all images set as “featured image” in a post, are unable to copy off my server.

I have full permissions, but once I use them as the featured image, I can’t copy them off.

    Anyone else experience this?

    UPDATE #2:

I can copy off the generated 150×150/300×300/1280×728 thumbs, but not the main image associated
