    Hi..

I get this message in Yoast; Huge SEO Issue: You’re blocking access to robots not true (in my case)

However – my robots text file is allowing robots (see below) – my ads.txt file is visible, and the box in Settings > Reading to ‘allow ‘ Discourage search engines from indexing this site’ is UNCHECKED. Any clues what I am doing wrong?

    # START YOAST BLOCK

    # —————————

    User-agent: *

    Disallow:

    Sitemap: https://www.101christianevents.com/sitemap_index.xml

    # —————————

    # END YOAST BLOCK

UPDATE: I disabled Yoast plugin and reactivated it it. Now the message does not show and says ‘Good job! We could detect no serious SEO problems.’. Can it really be that simple to fix? I’m not convinced after that. Why would simply reactivating the plugin it fix it? ??

    Hi @epgb101,

Thanks for reaching out about your robots.txt file. A setting could have indeed been preventing access to the file, temporarily. The notification should have gone away but it might have been cached. So deactivating and reacitvating the plugin would have solved the issue. I have checked the file and can confirm its not been blocked. You could also use the robots.txt tester in Google Search Console to confirm
