I’m running some facebook ads and following the results via Wordfence live traffic. I usually follow it through human traffic but the clicks I get from facebook ads are usually going to the “all hits” tab. Is facebook ripping me off by sending bot clicks to my ads or may there be a problem with Wordfence “Human” tab recognition?

    Hi,

The “human” detection is based on scripts running in the browser, when certain browser events occur. It may be possible that some of these events aren’t occurring on some mobile browsers — can you tell if it is all mobile visits that are reach the site through the ads?

Another possibility is a javascript conflict on the page that prevents the script from running. If you have any plugins that add content based on certain referers, or any plugins that only affect output on the landing page you’re using for the campaign, those might be causing trouble. If there is a problem that affects all browsers, you can check the browser’s javascript console, to see if any errors appear.

Yes, more than 90% were mobile. I saw some referral traffic in the humans tab and they were desktop users. Is there anything that can be done about the mobile?

Mobile browsers do normally work in Live Traffic, but it’s possible a common browser has changed and isn’t tracked correctly anymore, or an embedded browser in the Facebook mobile app might cause the issue.

If you can see some of these in Live Traffic still, what does it show for the “Browser” line, and the line below it? (The full user-agent string.)

That will help narrow it down so we can improve tracking in those cases. Thanks!
