Hi, I love your plug in, but unfortunately it is preventing me from accepting payments on my website.

I use Woocommerce on Divi, and accept payments using Square and their integration with Woo. When I have Hummingbird enabled, the card detail fields for payments do not show on the checkout page, so customers are unable to make payments (mobile and desktop). When I disable Hummingbird, these fields do appear.

I have tried turning off page cacheing, and have also turned off Asset Optimisation for all checkout and payment related assets.

Short of de-activating Hummingbird, are there any settings I should check to solve this problem?

    Thanks, Daniel

    Hi @deewallaby

    I hope you’re well today!

Usually this kind of issues are related to Asset Optimization but if you can confirm that even with it disabled it still happens, that would mean that there’s some additional factor involved. I checked our internal issue reports and we don’t currently have any such issues active so it will require additional investigation.

That being said, I’ve visited the checkout page and noticed that at the moment there seem to be some JS assets loaded as if they were processed by Hummingbird – if you have Hummingbird (or just its Asset Optimization feature) disabled, that shouldn’t be happening.

I’m not sure where are you hosting your site but HTTP headers suggest there is some sort of server-level caching involved. Let’s start with that:

    – can you check if with Hummingbird plugin enabled but with Asset Optimization disabled the issue is still present after fully clearing server-side cache? ?
    – can you check/confirm if there is any server-side JS optimization enabled or additional optimization via some dedicated hosting plugin (like e.g. SiteGround Optimizer on SiteGround hosting)?

    Also:

    – which plugin are you using for Square integration – the “official” one from Square?
    – it seems you are using Divi, do you have any JS performance related options enabled in its settings and if yes – which ones?

    Kind regards,
    Adam
