• I had the plugin installed on a client’s site where very strange things happened.

The client created a new page saved it as “draft” and did some work on the page. After hitting “publish” the edit screen got stuck with an ever spinning wheel. The publish process didn’t finish and the client eventually cloded the window.
Only to discover that meanwhile the system has created over a thousand of empty pages with no title.

It took me some time to figure out what was going on, but I identified Post Type Switcher as the culprit.

  • This is a big problem, if you have another plugin that also modifies the save process of a post, this plugin will go into an infinite loop and save the the same post thousands of time.

Is there a solution to remove all of these new empty pages?

    Hi,
I just found the same issue today in my site. I realised afterwards that the empty pages are being created while I was working on new page drafts.
If I deactivate the post type switcher plugin, is this going to resolve the issue? Not sure how to proceed to avoid this situation in the future.
Also: can I somehow bulk delete all the empty pages at once and not page by page?

    Any comments would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

dlambova Sorry I can’t help you with this but did you figure out what plugin was causing this to produce hundreds of pages?

Same here — I get about 600 empty pages when I go from ‘Draft’ -> ‘Publish’ on a Page. No clue what’s causing it. Has anyone figured it out? For me it’s pretty consistently about 642 extra and empty pages being created.

@netzialist — I just discovered that we are using the Post Type Switcher plugin as well. What solution did you finally come up with?

    Thanks!
