• After upgrading Hustle to 6.0 on several production websites, I found out, some time later, that the code for all elements had changed, effectively invalidating any customizations made to the various plugin instances.

Not only did devs completely change the code (including CSS IDs and classes), but also the shortcodes.

So my clients were left with 10 websites displaying skewed floating sharing buttons on mobile because my CSS no longer worked as intended, and also with pages displaying plain text old Hustle shortcodes that don’t work anymore either.

You devs might have had your reasons for rewriting the plugin code, but you should have at least warned users before the update that it was going to break sites. Or even better, you should have provided a seamless migration path or backwards compatibility.

Extremely unprofessional. Not only you lost your own reputation here, but you damaged your clients’ reputations as well.

One star till professionalism is proven again somehow.

    Hey @finomeno,

Sorry to hear that you faced with some problem on a new version of Hustle.

I will forward your feedback to team maybe we can add a warning for changelog while making major updates. But before all updates (not only for Hustle but also every update) I think taking backup first is best practice. So you can turn back to old if anything broken.

I hope you will not face the same problem for next updates.

    Cheers,
    Oguz
