I am using hustle for newsletter pop ups but I have one issue tho.

When customer purchases product on my site, its record goes to mailchimp but he is not a subscriber there, only a customer with tag: customer. But when he wants to join the newsletter afterwards (when the record is already created in mailchimp) and he puts his email in the field, the record updates the tag only e.g. now having both tags: customer and hustle, but it doesn’t update the actual subscription.

Hope you know what I mean and someone can help me fixing that.

    Hi @abelabel22,

I hope you are well and thank you for reaching out to us.

The issue looks a bit tricky to replicate at our end. Can you please explain how the records are added to Mailchimp when a customer purchases? This will help us to try to replicate the issue at our end.

We look forward to hearing back from you and resolving this issue.

    Kind Regards,
    Nebu John

So I’m using MC4WP plugin, which collects data from WooCommerce orders. Therefore, customer is added to the audience. But as I said, is NOT flagged as Subscriber. I tag him: customer.

But when customer wants to join newsletter afterwards, the records tag is updated only (e.g. Hustle or only subscriber, whatever) but still without an actual subscription status in Mailchimp.

There is no problem in opposite scenario, when person signs up for a newsletter first, its subscription is vaild, and when making purchase afterwards, the MC4WP updates the tag only having both customer and Hustle tag.

    Hi @abelabel22,

Thank you for getting back to us.

I did a quick check on a test website at my end but couldn’t replicate the issue at our end. Could you please share a full screenshot of the MC4WP – WooCommerce Checkout integration configuration to examine the issue closely?

We look forward to hearing back from you.

    Kind Regards,

    Hi @abelabel22

Thank you for response and additional information.

I did some more testing on my end but I still cannot replicate the case, I’m afraid.

In any case, no matter what I do, after submitting my e-mail (even if it already exists in MailChimp – subscribed or not) I am receiving a message from MailChimp to confirm my subscription and once i do this, I am subscribed.

I think I might still be missing some setting here. Two things that I’d like to make sure about then:

    – in Hustle module in MailChimp do you have “Automatically opt-in new users to mailing list” option enabled? And doesn’t change anything on your end if you change that (enable/disable – depending on how it was set)?

    – the tags there – are there only tags related to that Hustle subscription configured (in Hustle module MailChimp integration) or also other tags?

    – and finally, when e-mail is first added by that other plugin is there an opt-in e-mail sent to the user by MailChimp and also the status in MailChimp – is there no status at all or is it actually “unsubscribed”?

    Kind regards,
    Adam
