[Plugin: SP News and Three Widgets] Hyperlink icon (How to remove it)

Hello, I am posting this question in more than one forum, so I have a better chance of getting help from someone who might know what I am talking about.

There is an icon that is very common on WordPress that I am trying to remove from the widget and plugin “SP News and Scrolling Widgets.” The icon is a vector illustration of a chain that usually sits to the right of a hyperlink (when linked on a WordPress widget, or within a post.) I need to know if that icon could be changed into some other image like a bullet, per se?

I’d at least like to find out if anyone knows if that icon can be removed, or ignored from a command within the style-sheet or somewhere else in the editor of the dashboard?
